Our Founder
Suzey Sligh Van Ness is an award-winning storyteller, creative strategist, and community builder with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations connect people to ideas, places, and causes that matter.
Her career spans both the entertainment and nonprofit sectors, including leadership roles with MGM Studios, Sony Pictures, and the Nevada Preservation Foundation. Throughout her work, a common thread has remained: using stories to inspire connection, deepen engagement, and create meaningful impact.
As Deputy Director of the Nevada Preservation Foundation, Suzey helped grow the Home + History Las Vegas festival into one of the region's most recognized heritage tourism initiatives, expanding awareness, community participation, and support for preservation efforts through innovative programming and strategic storytelling.
Today, through Seeds of Purpose Collective, she combines creative leadership, mission-driven strategy, and a deep commitment to cultural and environmental stewardship to support nonprofits, conservation initiatives, cultural organizations, and purpose-led changemakers working to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
Suzey believes that when people connect to a story, they become part of its future, and that meaningful change begins with purpose, grows through connection, and flourishes through collective action.
